How It Works

How to register your items is possibly the first question you might ask so we have written a little "how to" below: or see our video here : 

Registering your items it quick and easy. Simply read and agree to the Website terms and conditions plus the Owner and Hirer hire agreement, fill in your required details, verify your email by responding to the email we will send you and your set to go. Listing items is only a matter of uploading 1 or 2 photos, setting your hire and bond amount and adding any information you would like in the description section. Information for Owners

As an owner of idle items there are a few things that you will need to have in place before listing. We have listed below some information that we believe may assist you.

Insurance

Most items that you have will be insured currently whether under your home & contents insurance or as a vehicle/registered item (motor) insurance. Hidle does not offer an insurance product but an owner nominated bond instead which is paid up front by the hirer & used to claim against should the need arise. Should you wish to also have insurance cover on your item then you will need to check with your current insurance provider that they are happy to continue to insure your items for peer to peer hire. If not it is your responsibility to make sure you have adequate insurance should you feel you need it for all listed items. Hidle requires a certificate of currency or policy covering peer to peer hire to be emailed to admin@hidle.com.au.

Public Liability

You will need to ask your insurance provider if you have public liability (up to $10,000,000) as part of  your insurance policy. It is your responsibility as the owner to take out a public liability insurance policy to cover your item if required. Hidle requires a copy of your certificate of currency for any public liability policy to be emailed to admin@hidle.com.au

Registration

Hidle requires a copy of the current registration papers if the item you are listing is registered. Please email to admin@hidle.com.au. All registrations must be kept up to date at all times.

Bank Details And Payment

All owners will need to provide Hidle with their PayPal account correct email address or bank account details so that we can deposit your payment into your nominated account for your hired items. If you have not added your correct PayPal  account email or bank account details you will need to edit your profile and add them. Please be assured that only yourself and the Hidle accounts team will be able to access this information. Payments to Owners bank accounts may take up to seven (7) business days to appear in the nominated account from the date the payment is processed. Hidle administration endeavours to process all payments within twentyfour (24) hours from time of receipt.

Listing Your Idle Item

The Hidle team recommend that you list your item with between 1 or 2 photos. Please bear in mind that photos are restricted to a total of 16MB. So if listing with 2 photos, they must be 8MB or less each. Complete all fields for your listing with as much detail as possible. As the owner you can set the daily hire rate and the bond amount that you wish to be held. Electrical Items

Yes. Hidle requires Owners to have all electrical items they intend listing on the Hidle platform tested & tagged by a qualified electrician. Hidle can help with this. For more information contact us at info@hidle.com.au or visit our friends at https://addbg.com.au.

Pick Up

Pick up date, time and address must be provided to the hirer once the Owner has been contacted by Hidle. At the arranged pick up time it is recommended by Hidle that both parties complete a checklist provided by the Owner in detail. It is also recommended that the transaction reference number & hirers photo id number are recorded for future reference.

Caravan/Camper Trailer/Trailer Owners

When listing your caravan or camper trailer through Hidle’s platform, you must email the following to admin@hidle.com.au

  • Insurance certificate of currency showing coverage for peer to peer hire.
  • Current registration papers.
  • Certificate of currency for public liability of up $10,000,000 per claim if not covered on your insurance policy.

Hidle recommend that you provide an inventory of all items in your caravan or camper trailer (crockery, linen, appliances etc.) at time of pick up. A tour of your item is a great idea so that you can explain if there is anything to set up/pull down, safety features, how toilet, stove etc. work. At the same time as the tour it is recommended that a detailed checklist is completed.

Remember as the owner you have a duty of care and can refuse a hirer hiring your item. Refusal could be because for a number of reasons such as the vehicle not being adequate for towing your item, the hirer is suspected to be under the influence of something and incapable of safely operating the item etc. When your item is returned it is recommended both parties go through the checklist again and sign off that the item is being returned in satisfactory condition. If there are any problems regarding the return then both parties should contact Hidle.

Drop Off

Drop off date, time and address must be arranged with the hirer. At drop off it is recommended that both parties sign off on the pick up checklist if provided that the item was returned without delay or damage and in the same condition as it was hired out. Hidle must be contacted within 24 hours of item return should the return of the Owner Nominated Bond in full be in dispute.

Information For Hirers

As a hirer there are a few things that you will need to have before hiring an item. Please read below.

Payment

After choosing the item you wish to hire, entered the required details, review your booking and select the hire now button. You will be taken to the payment gateway(PayPal). It is at this stage you will be required to enter your payment details. Hidle does not store any credit card details. Once payment has been made you will need to record/print your transaction number as this will be needed to pick up the hired item.

Identification

All Hidle hirers are required to provide current valid photo identification. If you haven’t already entered your identification you will need to edit your profile to add identification details. You will need to show your identification to the owner of the hired item on pickup.

Pickup

Pick up date, time and address must be provided to the hirer once the Owner has been contacted by Hidle. At the arranged pick up time it is recommended by Hidle that both parties complete a checklist provided by the Owner in detail. It is also recommended that the transaction reference number & hirers photo id number are recorded for future reference.

Drop Off

DDrop off date, time and address must be arranged with the hirer. At drop off it is recommended that both parties sign off on the pick up checklist if provided that the item was returned without delay or damage and in the same condition as it was hired out. Hidle must be contacted within 24 hours of item return should the return of the Owner Nominated Bond in full be in dispute.
